Bio

Inspired by the natural world, Lily creates vibrant floral paintings that sit between botanical representation and abstraction. Rather than aiming to reproduce flowers exactly as they appear, she focuses on their shape, movement, colour and atmosphere. Her work often features expressive outlines, contrasting tones and tactile layers of paint that invite the viewer to look closely and discover new details.

A key feature of Lily’s practice is her love of texture. She experiments with thickly applied paint, raised surfaces and reflective details to create artwork that changes with the light and viewing angle. This gives her paintings a sense of depth and energy, allowing the flowers to feel almost as though they are growing beyond the canvas.

Currently studying Fine Art at Cardiff Metropolitan University, Lily is developing her practice through experimentation with materials, composition and colour. Her work reflects a growing interest in contemporary botanical painting and the relationship between the natural world and personal expression.

Lily’s paintings are created for people who want to bring colour, individuality and a sense of nature into their surroundings. Each original piece is made by hand and is intended to be enjoyed not only as an image, but as a tactile and visually engaging object.
